A celebration of Robert Mann’s 90th birthday, “Robert Mann Special Concert”, was originally planned that Mr. Mann was to conduct the whole program but he feels it will take more energy and stamina to conduct all three pieces.
Therefore he will conduct only one piece and the rest will be conducted by Joel Smirnoff. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

In 1997 when Robert Mann had retired from the Juillard String Quartet as a first violinist, Mr. Smirnoff has taken this position and stayed with this quartet until 2009. At the present, he remains being very active not only as a violinist but as a conductor and also as an educator. He assumed a position of presidency at the Cleveland Institute of Music since 2008.
